You have decided to apply to participate in the Maryland Mentoring Partnership’s Discount Background Checks Program, NETCheck.  After three years of aggressive advocacy, we were successful in securing significant relief for Maryland’s youth mentoring community in the area of screening potential volunteers.  Most people presently have to pay between $36.00 and $56.00 for State and FBI background checks, as a participant in this program you will be able to secure State and FBI checks for only $15.25 from any Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) facility. 

In this document you will find the information you need to participate in this program including a Program Agreement Form, Program Information Form, CJIS General Registration Form, NETCheck  Manual and Background Checks FAQ’s.  To support you in this process we have included a sample Mentor Release Statement, Sample Discount Card and Private Fingerprinting Agencies List.  Each form that must be completed has completion and mailing/emailing instructions on the form. Just follow these easy steps to participate in this program. 

• Complete the CJIS General Registration Form and mail or fax to CJIS
• Complete MMP’s Program Information Form and fax or email to MMP (Contact MMP if your info has not been updated since July 2008)
• Complete and sign the Program Agreement Form and mail to MMP (Must include your CJIS authorization Number)
• Once your Program Agreement Form is processed and MMP verifies that your Program Information Form is up to date, you will receive the validated Discount Cards and MMP Program ID number in the mail.   The Discount Cards are only valid with MMP’s raised seal and an authorizing signature.
• Complete the quarterly online report of background check results at http://marylandmentors.org/netcheckform.html.  Report must be completed prior to receiving NETCheck Discount Cards for next quarter.
